GREEN BY NAME, GREEN BY NATURE: All our recent books (where the publisher is listed as 'Green Books') are printed on a minimum of 75% recycled paper, and wherever possible 100% recycled paper, including Cyclus Offset, Five Seasons, Corona Natural and Revive.

The book covers of recent titles are made of 50%–100% recycled materials. All the printers we currently use are within 150 miles as the crow flies from our offices in Devon, and they use vegetable–based inks. We don't print overseas, thus reducing 'book miles' and our carbon footprint.

She provides easy-to-follow advice on creating your own apothecary with a small number of versatile herbs. You will learn how to: prevent and treat common illnesses with a small number of natural herbs; avoid some of the adverse side effects that are common with chemical-based medicines; grow and store herbs; and create tinctures, oils and ointments for a home apothecary.

Herbs for Home Treatment explains how to deal with common illnesses, including problems of the digestive, respiratory, circulatory and nervous systems, and suggests essential herbs as well as those that are also useful to have in the cupboard. It also offers advice on how to get the best out of herbs for general health, including how to maintain energy levels, increase stamina, and improve your mood. The book provides information on dosages, possible allergies, and when to seek professional help. It also describes how to make your own first-aid kit for when travelling abroad, and provides a list of retailers of herbs and professional herbalists.

The Author: Anna Newton studied Herbal Medicine at the University of Wales, and has worked as a medical herbalist for Neal’s Yard in Cheltenham for the past six years. Anna is a member of the National Institute of Medical Herbalists and the College of Practitioners of Phytotherapy.
